Unfortunately is the depatment of Organizational Behavior not longer existing. There are also no lectures for "Leadership" in the summer term 2019

How do people talk themselves into leadership roles? Who gains legitimacy in organizations and how is this constructed through verbal and non-verbal communication? Why do young and experiences employees sometimes learn from each other and at other times knowledge transfer goes wrong?

We
seek answers to these and related questions. Our main interests cover the social dynamics between leaders and followers as well as the micro-dynamics of organizational behavior in the changing business world.

From a methodological perspective, we focus on interaction analysis (i.e., coding of behavioral building blocks as they occur in conversations), experimental research (including eye tracking), diary studies and longitudinal research.

Our research is published in top tier academic journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning and Education or The Leadership Quarterly. To make scientific knowledge accessible to practice, we also regularly contribute to bridging journals such as the Harvard Business Manager, Personalmagazin or Personal Quarterly.

In our teaching, we offer courses on Leadership and Organizational Behavior for Master students and advanced Bachelor students. We rely on a practice-oriented teaching approach that provides students with knowledge about recent theories and translates them into application for the corporate world.
